Storybook hooded sweater

During his last trip to US on sep 2011 , my dear hubby bought this yarn, from a famous yarn manufacturer Lion brand. align with the name the "pound of love" really weighted 1 pound which is eq to 400g and the size was really big... bigger than my hubby's head ( trust me that his head is big enough ...) . The picture on the cover caught my eyes and i search in lionbrand website looking for the pattern that happened to be free ( lucky me ..). this is the link to the pattern and , yes you need to be a free member before you can access the pattern. the pattern is free to download at lionbrand website( http://www.lionbrand.com/patterns/90427AD.html) . its a simple garter stitch sweater suitable for beginners...
i need to get the sweater done before the trip to universal studio and plan for my baby to wear the sweater with the purple legging on the flight to singapore. the time is limited and yet i was so busy with my paid job at that time.
So i choosed to knit during my trip to and from from work at the red light ( i am a driver not the passenger). It took me 3 weeks to finish and this was the only time i was gratefull that the traffic jam in penang was so bad...:P

The sweater finish at last and eventhough it finish after the singapore trip it is still be very useful especially when i bring the kids to the movie.

safrina ruffle hat

upon request i crochet a hat for a dear frens daughter, Safrina ( not sure whether i get the spelling right or not). this hat is made from olivia 100% cotton yarn, a very comfortable yarn especially in our hot tropical weather. to buy this yarn you can click on this link:  http://deenor.yarnshopping.com/yarns-for-summer-olivia-cotton-white-light-green

pattern for this hat is using the basic hat pattern
  • Chain 3. Join with slip stitch to form ring.
  • Round 1: 6 sc in ring. Slip stitch into first sc to join round; chain 1, turn
  • Round 2: 2 sc in each sc around (12 stitches). Slip stitch into first sc to join round; chain 1, turn
  • Round 3: *sc in first stitch then 2 sc in next stitch* repeat all the way around (18 stitches). Slip stitch into first sc to join round; chain 1, turn
  • Round 4: *sc in each of the first two stitches, then 2 sc in next stitch* repeat all the way around (24 stitches). Slip stitch into first sc to join round; chain 1, turn.
  • Round 5: *sc in each of the first three stitches, then 2 sc in next stitch* repeat all the way around (30 stitches). Slip stitch into first sc to join round; chain 1, turn
  • Round 6: *sc in each of the first four stitches, then 2 sc in next stitch* repeat all the way around (36 stitches). Slip stitch into first sc to join round; chain 1, turn
  • Round 7: *sc in each of the first five stitches, then 2 sc in next stitch* repeat all the way around (42 stitches). Slip stitch into first sc to join round; chain 1, turn
  • Continue increasing in this manner until you reach the appropriate circumference. (For example, if you use sportweight yarn and you are making an adult hat, it make take you as many as fourteen of these rounds to achieve the right circumference.) Use a measuring tape (the flexible kind used for sewing) to measure around the edge of the circle. Once you have the right circumference, continue as follows:
  • Round X: sc in each stitch all around. Slip stitch into first sc to join round; chain 1, turn
  • Repeat Round X as needed to achieve the right length; for preemies, work rounds until about 5 inches from the beginning; for babies, 6 inches; for toddlers, 7 inches, for children, 9 inches; for women and men, 10 inches.
  • Fasten off. Weave in ends.

For the ruffle round:
  • round 1; chain 5 , 2 dc in the same space. be sure to pull the dc to be as long as 5 ch, making 3 long dc in the same space. 3 long dc in the next space. repeat to the end.
  • round 2: ch 2 , sc in the next space.* ch1 sc in the next space.repeat *  to the end. fasten off and weave the end

Kaseh Syazlyn earflap hat

Hi all, it has been sometime since my last post. the fact is i am really buzy like a buzy bee lately. some people said , wah are you sure you are really busy coz always saw you upload your crochet project in FB... hehehe... let me tell you the definition of passion guys... passion means no matter how busy you are you will steal sometime to do what you like most ( or among the things you like most). last few weeks has been a nightmare in my life... many thing never turn the way it should be and i walking uphill almost alone . the year end stocktake result turn upside down with so many process incompliance and who will have the worst nightmare rather than a material manager?  huhuhu... my spirit is very low at the moment and i need to do something to lift it up.  The truth is just now i woke up at 2:30 am to finish the 'Defend' report that i should share in this 10 am morning meeting.but i got stuck halfway and i cannot call anybody at this wee hours... sooooo... i crochet while waiting for my dryer to finish drying my cloths.. ( thanks dear hubby for buying me the dryer so i dont have to rush and hang my cloth every morning...:-) ).

the cap above is the one that i crochet last 2 weeks for a dear frens daughter, named Kaseh syazlyn. using j hook and 100 cotton yarn from peach and creme that my hubby bought from his last year trip to US. Well, as you all know cotton is not that soft like wool, but the texture is so comfortable to wear and i will always crochet baby's hat using cotton because of our hot weather...

the pattern is rather simple, using the basic hat pattern
